Where Did GoKart Come From?
As a mom of three school-aged children, I’m busy! My kids are all involved in sports and after school activities like lacrosse, band, basketball and track. Then there are the playdates, birthday parties, teen movie nights and sleepovers.
Early 2016, I received an e-mail with my son’s lacrosse spring season practice times. They were scheduled Monday’s and Wednesday’s at 5:00. Because I worked until 5:00-5:30, I immediately panicked. How will I get him there?
I thought of my options and realized that there weren’t any that fit. So, one day at work, I had an “ah ha” moment. I thought, why isn’t there a ride share service, but for kids? Like if Uber and care.com had a baby?
As a mom of a 14, 12 and 9 year old, I care very deeply about kids safety, as well as keeping kids involved in sports and activities. I have a service mentality and felt a call to help other parents and caregivers who juggle the modern times of a work/life balance.
So here we are….and that is how the idea of GoKart was born!
